From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Audiences can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
